Weekly Update 21-12-16

If anyone is looking for a piano tuner in Sheffield (and Yorkshire or Derbyshire), now is your last chance to make a booking before Christmas. I’ll be taking 3 days off during New Year’s Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day, and will be working usual hours from Tuesday the 27th. This is the first time in 5 years that I’ll be spending Christmas in Sheffield – I usually spend it with relatives in Robin Hood’s Bay (a small fishing village between Whitby and Scarborough). I will probably be there for a day or two around New Year, so if anyone around the Whitby and Scarborough area who is need of a piano tuner, I will be making regular visits to the area again soon.

This week has been busier than I anticipated; I expect many people have realised their pianos could do with a tune for the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations. Yesterday I was working from 6 AM until 9 PM, piano tuning in Sheffield city centre (another job at the Cruicible Theater), Ecclesfield and finally a drive to Rossington in Doncaster to tune a piano recently purchased as a Christmas present. This morning I had another drive to tune for a regular customer in Blythe (just a few miles south of Rossington, Doncaster), then had another two tunings in Sheffield. The new couple of days are looking less busy, however. If anyone needs a last minute piano tuning this week, I could fit you in either tomorrow (Thursday the 22nd) evening or on Friday in the afternoon.

Weekly Update 12-12-16

My apologies to anyone who tried to contact me via email this weekend. Unfortunately on Friday night my modem unexpectedly stopped working, so I have been without internet access since then. It is unlikely that the problem will be fixed by the end of the week, so if anyone needs to contact me about a piano tuning, ringing or texting my mobile is the best bet. I will try to check my emails every day either at one of my local Cafes, but my laptop can be temperamental with wifi connections it isn’t used to, so if you have to wait a day or two for a reply to an email, then my apologies.

I try to update this blog once a week, but forgot to update it last week. I had lots of piano tuning work in Sheffield, a few in Rotherham and one in Doncaster (where a customer kindly offered to put some cards up in local shops to promote in the area), but nothing I haven’t already written about in detail on this site. October and November tend to be busy months for a piano tuner, but things die down during Christmas and new year. If anyone needs to piano tuner this week or next week, feel free to get in touch and the chances are I’ll be able to fit you in sooner rather than later. My working hours remain the same throughout the Christmas season, with the exception of New Years Eve, Christmas and Boxing Day which I will be spending with family in Robin Hood’s Bay (a small historical village between Whitby and Scarborough).
